ambassador dining room
now we're off [to] the gold coast to visit with melissa the interior designer behind black label similar thanks so much for having me in [the] home not my pleasure. it's a great home for queensland there's lots of glass lots of open space you can open up your doors and go out to lots of the areas for queensland that's such an important feature being able to spread out into those outdoor areas. we're such an indoor/outdoor living environment. that's how we live one thing that stands out is of course the amazing kitchen [and] the butler's [pantry] definitely the hero of the home. i think so, so it's um got beautiful finishes in it so i've got the caesar stone benchtops and splash back and that's paired with some really beautiful timber green lemonade this isn't a gloss finish so that's really lovely and then having that butler's pantry
at the back to schedule that place for some you know all [of] your mess to get concealed so really important. i think plan consideration for that design savvy homeowner this whole area i guess is that open plan living so you can pretty much do everything from this the hub [of] the home the v-j board the feige a [theme], it's beautiful isn't it so i think just to add a little bit of interest, so this particular home. it's the black label theme, so it's very based on sort of contemporary simplicity so the hard finishes are very sophisticated and elegant and has very clean lines so yeah, it has a very monochromatic feel to it. which you can introduce some color into that, but it's um for this particular home
it's quite dramatic and that sort of suits in with that theme you upstairs to me feels like a hotel like i went into that master by the way every single zone upstairs every bedroom has an ensuite it's fantastic isn't it so it's um once again like you were saying quite a bit of a hotel feel so i think the thing for us is [that] when homes are as big as this you do have [to] be a little bit careful that it doesn't become repetitive so we were quite conscious about making sure that each of those bedrooms and on swedes felt like they had their own style they had their own luxury
and the master bedroom is amazing. it's a massive room with its sitting area it's got that built-in desk [in] [keene] row balcony, and then the ensuite is incredible flipping in a day far out there to tell me a little bit more about the wallpaper. i love wallpaper it's probably one of my passions so it's such a great way [to] introduce a little bit [of] personality and some interest so you can have a very neutral theme again like [i] [was] saying with this home, but still bring that personality in through the wallpapers and depending on what your theme is so this one being quite sophisticated we've used the stripes and some really beautiful subtle patterns
but you know if you had another theme like organic or something like that you can bring in some textured wallpapers and give it that feel so really good way to just unite the whole theme together tell me a little bit more about the online process all the information is there so it's such a great place [to] start you can start working through all the floor plans that we have and figuring out what works for you? [so] [that's] a great place to be you've also got the lookbook there and it will also show you where [all] of our displays are located which is really handy because i think that's the most important thing people need to come into the homes get a bit of a feel
of an understanding of the plan because looking at it in 2d as opposed to in real is two very different things when you are at the office [and] you're putting together a project like this more to sell to the public what what goes through your [mind] i think just presenting it in the best possible way that we can so having something that's quite neutral so that it appeals to the broader market, but then making it really interesting so yeah it's quite a fine balance to go from mutual to interesting and finding spaces that people going to love to be in so the whole thing for me is i want people to walk in and feel like as soon as they walk in the door [that] they can live here. this is somewhere that they want to be
