clear dining room chairs

hi and welcome to fuerteventura. in the first video i refinished a pine dining table which we use outside. it has had a plastic table cloth on it over the winter but that didn't protect it particularly well and in fact some of the die in it leaked through into the table top. i started by using a 40 grit disk on the orbital sander which did a good job of removing the old finish but some of the dye went too deep to remove. i then swapped to a 120 grit disk to give it a final sand. i removed the sanding dust a soft damp cloth. i used a polyurathane varnish to finish. jenson wasn't that impressed as you can see. after the first coat had dried i gave the whole surface a very light hand sanding with 120 grit sandpaper and then gave it a second coat of polyurathane.

the result wasn't too bad considering the state the top was in to start with. one of the next projects is to repair and refinish the 6 chairs that go with it. the carvers are the worst as they cant tuck under the table so get the worst of the weather (well what little bad weather we get here). thanks for watching. please leave any comments below and subscribe if you wish to see future videos.
