dining room signs

i am super proud of how i repurposedthis rustic wooden sign to help spruce up the decor in my living room and i'mgoing to show you how i repurposed this rustic wooden sign as well as one otheritem in my house that i repurposed to help spruce up the decor in my living room. y'all, i am so super proud of myself for repurposing this wooden sign that i gotfrom michaels a few weeks ago it was originally priced for $59.99 then markeddown to 39 99 and the day that i went in it was on clearance for seven dollarsnow i'm sure i could find a wooden sign at goodwill or something like that butthis is a huge steal for shopping at michaels i appreciate the palette styleof this rustic wooden sign and i like how

it helps with a relaxed decor it's kindof a farmhouse feel without being farmhouse because my style is definitelynot farmhouse or fixer-upper although i do love the show and i lovevisiting there we are feet propped up on the coffee table kind of people it's bytarget and it's the franklin coffee table in weathered gray i will link itbelow for you i've had it probably six months and the only thing i can sayabout it is you have to make sure the wheels are turned in because you willstump your toe so many times it's so easy to stump your toe on this thingthere's no reason but we do love the coffee table this coffee table i did notwant to paint it like an off-white color

anything if you look at my room you seethat i have so many dark colors in my sofa and stuff like that but i've reallylike to highlight the bright pinks and a little bit of aqua that are in my livingspace but my existing basket that's all my coffeeit's a little bleh like meh like it does nothing for the coffee table thecoffee table doesn't pop you just you don't really see its beauty okay with asksuzannebell.com her free advice to get a rectangular tray either off-white ordark dark brown i had that in the back of my mindsuzanne bell also said get some greenery in there so i knew to also look forgreenery and i was just in the mood one

night when i went to michael's and ifound this sign that is cute for summer but i turned it over and it looks like atray that would fit on a coffee table and it was $7 i am so proud of how irepurposed this wooden rustic sign for my living room i did have a friend whosent me rethunk junk by laura look at what we can re do together istheir by line and i just love it i do happen to love how it turned out withtheir paint even though it was gifted to me because it was a sign to hangmichael's had put on the cute little hangers i unscrewed those and then i wasready to prep and paint you get this prep and that's what i had to spray onmy wooden section it smells like it is

alcohol i was like oh i can just usealcohol but it's got some other smell in the wreath of junk says that you startwith this prep and there's no need to prom or sand before painting if you usetheir kind of paint so i tried it and i really loved it honest to goodness lookhow adorable their instructions are they're just so happy and cheery withoutbeing cheesy i am a fan of that kind of pun so it grabs me in she sent me threeoff-white and white colors and here's how i repurposed this wooden sign as decor tospruce up our living room and you can see after one coat ofpaint it looks a little too thin so i do definitely need two coats of paint and iwonder if that's how all their paint is

that you need two coats because you'renot going to prime or sand i like the creaminess of it and you can use a q-tipto get in here and darken these little holes but my magazines everything'sgonna be on the bottom so i'm not as worried about the bottom right i'm alsoreally excited about how i repurposed a belt to go on as handles on my rusticwooden sign so i looked at some old belts that don't fit but for some reasoni'm keeping them in my closet still and i have this it's real leather calvinklein and then something i got from a kohl's pair of jeans or pants or capristhis one is much much thinner so that's the one i'm gonna work with and i'vealready tested by cutting it with just a

regular pair of scissors it cuts veryeasily and i'm using the dark brown leatherbecause that goes and draws in the dark brown from my sofas and i'm just gonnago i'm gonna fix it so that it sits up like that it's not flat because it's toohard to make it sit flat like that so i'm gonna angle it up a little bit andbecause this is cheap leather or pleather it's easy to work with but nowi've got to find a screw that will only go that far in and so i'm thinking aboutjust getting going to hobby lobby and getting one of those upholstery nailsthat looks like a big button or something like that like a tack almostbut ooh i wonder if attack would work

but i think i need something a littleheavier it's more sturdy to fit in here that's not real long and then that'lladd for this little part too much right so i'm gonna measure how much leatheri'm gonna need to actually nail it down in both of these parts and then i'll gofrom there i'm using my handy dandy push and pull ruler that i keep in my kitchenso i'm gonna measure my leather belt pieces with this and we're throwing ourbutter while i'm doing a craft project these little upholstery tacks areperfect for a super thin belt and for a short little piece of wood that theattack needs to go through and with it you just lightly tap it with the hammerand it is in it is so easy doesn't it

look so fabulous it looks like top notchno pun intended no belt pun intended i love how thisrepurposed wooden sign looks in our living space i think it draws your eyeto a foundation piece of a coffee table it spruces up the decor in our livingroom it's amazing you know just adding one bright colors or something doesn'tmake your eyes go to that thing it helps make your existing underneath foundationpiece in your room really pop and you know i like things that pop i am superexcited and i can't wait to do something else that's creative please leave me acomment below if you can think of other ways you can upcycle a rustic wooden signin your room or your living space
