dining room chandelier height

dining room chandelier height

hi, i'm colby with del mar fans and lighting, and today i'm going to show you how to determine the right size chandelier for your space.knowing the approximate width or diameter ofyour chandelier will help you choose one that's proportionate to your space. the first stepin determining this will be to measure the width and then the length of your space.after writing the two measurements down, add them together. so that equals twenty eightpoint eight feet. now, treat the feet as inches. so twenty eight point eight feet translatesto twenty eight point eight inches which equals the ideal diameter of a chandelier for thisspace give or take a few inches. knowing the height of a chandelier will help you choosea chandelier that's proportional to the height

of your space. measure from the installationpoint in the ceiling all the way to the floor. i got eight feet. so for each foot, ittranslates to two and a half to three inches for your chandelier height. so what we didis we multiplied eight times three to come up with an overall twenty four inches. sotwenty four inches or less is the ideal height for a chandelierin this space. chandeliers are most commonly centered in a room over a table like thisone. the standard is thirty to thirty two inches above the table to the bottom of thefixture. if you're not hanging your chandelier over a table, then it's recommended to beat least seven feet from the floor to the bottomof the chandelier. also it's suggested that

you're four feet away from any of the adjacentwalls. now that we've determined the ideal width and the ideal height of the chandelierthat's going to fit in this space, you can make a purchase. we're a little partial todelmarfans.com because of their great service and fast shipping. watch our how to installa chandelier video to install the chandelieryourself. leave a comment below and let us know what you think of our how to choose theright size chandelier for your room video. thanksfor joining me here at del mar fans and lighting. bye.
