properly cleaned and prepped surface. if you have a new or uncoated surface,please refer to the prep uncoated surfaces for paints and stainsvideo. if you have a previously coated or weathered surface, please refer to the prep coated surfacesfor paints and stains video. now that the surface is clean andprepped, it is time to apply the solid colored concrete stain. please follow all label instructions. make sure to stir before applying.
apply a thin even coat using a 3/8-inchnap roller cover, pad applicator or a nylon-polyesterbrush. be sure to cut-in using a brush to coatthe perimeter of the surface area that is next to the wall. use the appropriate spread rate pergallon. use this product when air and surfacetemperatures are between 50â°-90â° f. use long, even strokes in one direction,to avoid lap lines. since concrete varies in texture porosity, two coats may be required for uniformcolor appearance.
if you are using more than one can,intermix all cans of same product to ensure color uniformity. clean-up is easy with soap and water. the concrete stain will dry to the touchin two hours. please allow the first coat to dry for2-4 hours, before deciding if a second coat isnecessary. for uniformity, apply a second coat in acriss-cross direction. an annual touch-up may be required inareas subject to tire traffic. be sure the surface is fully cured beforeuse.
allow 24 hours for light foot traffic. allow 72 hours for heavy foot trafficand furniture. allow 14 days before subjecting toautomotive tires. allow 30 days before rinsing orcleaning with mild detergent. if necessary, corrugated cardboard may beplaced underneath automobile tires after 72hours. be sure to allow 30 days beforerinsing or cleaning with a mild detergent. premature heavy traffic will cause paintfailure requiring spot recoating.
